The PSD/Madeira Parliamentary Group participated in the XXII Edition of Emigrant Day, organized by the Casa do Povo da Ilha. This annual event brings together Madeirans living abroad, those who have returned, and many who visit the island to reconnect with family and friends.
Deputy Carlos Fernandes highlighted the celebration's importance as a moment of meeting and recognition for those who built lives outside Madeira but maintained ties to their roots. He praised the resilience of emigrants and their role as "ambassadors of Madeira in the world," carrying Madeiran identity, culture, and traditions with them.
Fernandes emphasized that Madeira should not forget those who left, just as they have not forgotten the island. The PSD/Madeira reaffirmed its commitment to staying close to emigrant communities, valuing their journeys and contributions to the region.
