SocioHabitaFunchal is developing the '3D – Into the Digital World' project, funded by the European Solidarity Corps. The year-long initiative focuses on robotics, 3D printing, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, programming, and digital literacy, aiming to empower young people as trainers within their communities.
A key component is the creation of a mobile multimedia and technology lab, bringing tools like computers, 3D printers, and VR equipment to various housing complexes. Robotics training has already begun, preparing technicians and youth to lead workshops.
The project also features workshops on 3D printing, website programming, and digital content creation, alongside virtual reality experiences for seniors to combat social isolation and promote active aging.
