The Public Security Police (PSP) detained a 57-year-old man in the Funchal municipality as part of a criminal investigation into suspected illegal possession of prohibited weapons. The investigation, which had been ongoing for approximately two years under the direction of the Public Prosecutor's Office (DIAP) of Funchal, led to the execution of a house search warrant.

During the operation, various items were seized, including a bow with nine arrows, an air rifle, a handcrafted weapon, an antique shotgun, a katana, two daggers, two knives, a throwing star, magazines and components for a G3 FM firearm, a 9mm magazine, a powder measure, a cleaning rod, ammunition casings and components of various calibers, a spent gas grenade, and diverse military equipment such as helmets, canteens, and an NBC mask.

All seized material will undergo expert examination, and the investigation continues under the direction of the Public Prosecutor's Office. The detainee will be brought for a first judicial interrogation for the application of coercive measures.
