The PTP (Portuguese Labour Party) has questioned the costs and benefits to public funds of the Mission Structure for the Central and University Hospital of Madeira. The structure is chaired by former regional secretary Pedro Ramos.
The party suggests that parliamentary parties should summon Pedro Ramos for a hearing to clarify issues related to the body's work. PTP leader Raquel Coelho described the structure as a "shadow secretariat for Health".
According to the PTP, one year after its creation, it is necessary to evaluate the operational costs of the entity, which includes a chairman with public manager remuneration status, an executive advisor, a personal secretary, and a driver, in addition to the possibility of contracting external services. All expenses are covered by the budget of the Regional Health Secretariat.
