The Public Administration Jurists Movement insists on the creation of a special career for these professionals in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. The Regional Directorate of Public Administration issued a negative opinion, arguing that legal functions can be integrated into the general career of Senior Technician, as they do not present sufficient specificity to justify a special career.
The Movement strongly disagrees with this position, highlighting the high responsibility, technical autonomy, and higher legal education required for functions such as legal consulting, drafting opinions, public procurement, litigation, regulatory production, legality oversight, corruption prevention, and data protection.
It now intends to bring the issue to the parties and deputies represented in the Legislative Assembly of Madeira, appealing for the matter to be discussed within the framework of the 2027 Budget of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, in order to avoid postponements. The Movement questions the recognition of its jurists by the Regional Government and argues that the functions performed have distinct, permanent, and differentiated characteristics that would justify a special career.
