Regional Government Approves Exceptional Support for Transport and Industry

The Regional Government Council approved temporary support for public transport, firefighters, social institutions, and bakeries in Porto Santo, along with agreements for educational institutions.

The Regional Government Council of Madeira has approved a new framework for exceptional and temporary support to offset the increase in fuel prices.

These measures are aimed at the public passenger transport sector (collective and taxis), humanitarian fire associations, the Red Cross, Sanas, and private social solidarity institutions (IPSS).

Additionally, support was approved for bakeries and commercial establishments with bakery/pastry sections on the island of Porto Santo that acquire raw materials by sea from the island of Madeira, as compensation for increased transport costs. The Council of Government also authorized cooperation agreements with the Salesianos Foundation and Colégio J.G., Lda. (Externato Júlio Dinis) to co-finance operational and school social action costs, totaling over 1.9 million euros. Program contracts were also signed with farmer associations for the payment of quality merit awards at agricultural fairs.
