The Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries, Nuno Maciel, visited Expomadeira, where he praised the crucial role of entrepreneurs in the island's recent economic performance.
Maciel highlighted the dynamism, entrepreneurship, and resilience of local businesspeople. "If Madeira is experiencing the best moment in its economy, with a 60-month cycle of continuous growth, it is largely due to the vision of our entrepreneurs," he stated, emphasizing the synergy between public policies and business activity in ensuring stability and quality of life for workers.
During his visit to the 41st edition of Expomadeira, which featured 82 exhibitors, the secretary engaged with the companies present, paying particular attention to the agri-food sector and regional government services. Maciel also noted that the region reached a historic high of 135,900 employed individuals, contributing to a decrease in the unemployment rate to 4.5% by the end of the first quarter of the year. He also thanked ACIF-CCIM for organizing the event.
