Representative of the Republic signs decree changing income tax rates in Madeira

Paulo Barreto signed a regional legislative decree altering income tax rates for residents of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

Paulo Barreto, the Representative of the Republic for Madeira, signed on Tuesday and ordered the publication of a Regional Legislative Decree that changes the income tax (IRS) rates applicable to residents of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

The decree amends Regional Legislative Decree no. 3/2001/M of 22 February. The regional Legislative Assembly approved it in a final global vote on 27 October, and it was received the same day at the Palácio de São Lourenço.

The next step is publication in the Diário da República. The entry into force and concrete effects of the new rates will depend on the decree's provisions after official publication.
