Restored Quinta do Serrado in Câmara de Lobos Officially Inaugurated

The restored Quinta do Serrado in Câmara de Lobos was officially inaugurated in a ceremony attended by Madeira's President, Miguel Albuquerque, the Mayor of Câmara de Lobos, and dozens of invited guests.

Owner Ireneusz Migas, who first visited Madeira as a tourist about ten years ago, shared how the island's scenery inspired him to return and invest in restoring the historic estate. Migas explained that he spent almost a year searching for a suitable property to fulfill his ambition of establishing a vineyard before discovering Quinta do Serrado.

Recognizing the estate's historic potential, which included a traditional manor house, a historic chapel, and evidence of a long-standing winemaking heritage, Migas decided to remove the existing banana plantation. This decision surprised some residents, but the project's aim, according to the owner, was never solely commercial but to restore the vineyard and preserve the property's historical identity.
