The Institute for Forests and Nature Conservation (IFCN) will keep the forest road between Areeiro and Eira do Serrado closed to traffic after several landslides were recorded along the route.
The decision follows the bad weather that has affected the region since Saturday afternoon, with heavy rainfall concentrated in the mountainous areas.
The road will remain closed until conditions are judged safe for reopening.
