Russian Oligarch Close to Putin Paid for Part of Donald Trump Jr.'s Wedding Celebrations

Russian businessman Umar Kremlev, a close associate of Vladimir Putin, covered some expenses for Donald Trump Jr.'s wedding to Bettina Anderson in the Bahamas.

Russian businessman Umar Kremlev, considered close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, paid for part of the wedding celebrations of Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson, which took place in the Bahamas in May. The information was first reported by ProPublica and later confirmed by Bettina Anderson.

According to media reports, Kremlev allegedly covered expenses estimated at hundreds of thousands of dollars, including the rental of one of the private islands used for the three-day event. Bettina Anderson stated that the financial support was offered as an "extraordinarily generous wedding gift" from a friend, refuting claims that Kremlev financed the entire wedding.

Kremlev heads the International Boxing Association and is known to be a close contact of the Kremlin. This revelation comes amid heightened scrutiny of ties between the Trump family and Russian business figures close to Moscow. No indication has emerged that the payment violated U.S. law.
