The Santa Cruz House of Culture has announced the program for the 2026 edition of SANTA CURTAS, a festival dedicated to short films. Pedro Pão, head of programming, highlighted the commitment to cinematic quality and thematic diversity, addressing topics such as human rights, ecology, and social inequalities.
The 2026 edition will feature 25 short films from 12 countries, including 11 Portuguese works, with an emphasis on national and regional productions. The short film "Cão Sozinho" by Marta Reis Andrade, internationally awarded, will be screened.
The festival will also include short films with cinematic relevance, from a DIY perspective, and the classic short film "Meshes of the Afternoon" (1943) by Maya Deren. "O Leite das Monarcas" by Francisco Nuno Rodrigues will also be presented.
