Santa Cruz invests €164,000 in fire prevention and watercourse improvements

The municipality of Santa Cruz has invested €163,847.30 in fire prevention measures, including clearing watercourses and creating safety strips.

Santa Cruz invests €164,000 in fire prevention and watercourse improvements

The Santa Cruz Municipal Chamber has invested a total of €163,847.30 in actions to prevent and reduce fire risk within the municipality.

These interventions involve clearing and reducing fuel load along 5,677.31 linear meters of urban watercourses, spread across 11 routes in five parishes, at a cost of €81,946.58. The aim is to decrease fire risk and improve water drainage.

Additionally, safety strips were created along the road network on Caminhos da Torre and do Lombo in Gaula, with an investment of €81,900.72. This project covered 43,905.90 square meters and is intended to facilitate access for emergency services and reduce the spread of rural fires.
