The president of the Santa Cruz Socialist Party (PS) Concelhia, José António Nunes, criticized the JPP executive's approach to preparing the 2027 Municipal Budget and the Plan's Major Options.
Nunes argues that a simple letter requesting contributions does not constitute an effective consultation of opposition parties, citing Law No. 24/98, which provides for their right to be heard on municipal budget proposals and activity plans. He emphasizes the need to listen to, analyze, and consider the opposition's proposals before budget approval, also criticizing the alleged lack of dialogue and responses to questions raised by PS municipal deputies.
