The Santo António Development Association (ASA) has allocated more than €100,000 to 40 families for housing repair and improvement projects. These funds will benefit 101 individuals across various parishes in Funchal, aiming to enhance living conditions.
The program, supported by the Funchal Municipal Council, has achieved 57.2% execution of its €325,000 annual budget, with further aid planned in the coming weeks. ASA notes an increasing demand for such support, despite challenges with labor costs and professional availability.
Since its establishment in 1999, ASA has assisted over 13,480 families, including during emergencies like the 2016 storms. The association emphasizes the importance of legalizing homes to access public support programs.
