The São Vicente Municipal Council unanimously approved the Draft Municipal Regulation on Co-financing the Purchase of Phytopharmaceutical Products for Winegrowers in the municipality. The measure will now be submitted for public consultation.
This initiative aims to support the local agricultural sector by alleviating the burdens on winegrowers, encouraging production, and contributing to the sustainability of the activity. The regulation provides for an annual financial contribution of 50% of expenses for phytopharmaceutical products, with amounts ranging from 150 to 1,060.93 euros per beneficiary, depending on the vineyard area cultivated.
The support is intended for winegrowers with vineyards registered in the São Vicente municipality, provided they meet the regulation's requirements. The goal is to reduce costs, promote grape quality, combat agricultural land abandonment, and preserve the landscape and cultural identity. The project also includes the possibility of co-financing expenses incurred in 2026, with applications to be accepted after the regulation comes into effect.
