CDS deputy Sara Madalena used an address to the regional government regarding ongoing works to address the issue of anonymous defamation on social media.
Madalena spoke of "insults and defamation against fellow deputies" appearing on these platforms, many of which are anonymous but identifiable. The parliamentarian lamented the lack of courage from the perpetrators, stating that "a coward will always be a coward, they won't change," a sentiment echoed by the president of the regional government, Miguel Albuquerque, in his response.
