Socialist deputy Victor Freitas questioned the outcomes of the recent meeting between regional government leader Miguel Albuquerque and the Prime Minister.
Freitas highlighted Madeira as the region with the highest inflation in the country, the highest cost of living, and increased prices for electricity and gas. He also criticized the health sector for growing waiting lists and the housing sector for unfulfilled government promises.
The socialist deputy lamented that after a more assertive speech in Chão da Lagoa, Albuquerque returned from Lisbon with few updates, only learning that the regional finance law will be postponed to 2029.
