The Health Service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (SESARAM) has temporarily suspended visits to patients admitted to the Emergency Service of Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
The measure, which took immediate effect, was implemented due to "clinical and operational safety reasons" amid high occupancy rates, with approximately 50 patients awaiting admission.
To lessen the impact, SESARAM has increased staffing in family support and the Emergency Service secretariat to ensure families remain informed. The focus remains on patient well-being and quality healthcare, with regular reassessments of the suspension.
