A delegation from the SINERGIA union met with CDS-PP deputy Sara Madalena to alert her about the technical, sustainability, and consumer protection challenges within Madeira's power system.
The union highlighted the differences between the interconnected Iberian power system, which benefits from external support, and Madeira's and Porto Santo's isolated systems, which rely solely on local generation capacity. Issues concerning water production management, prioritizing water supply, and the importance of the convergence mechanism with the mainland were also discussed.
The deputy thanked them for the clarification and pledged to closely monitor the issue, paying particular attention to workers' needs. The union commended the EEM professionals and emphasized the need for negotiations ensuring stability.
