The Union of Road Transport and Metalworking Activities Workers of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (STRAMM/CGTP-IN) is demanding that Law 46/2026, which establishes a pay supplement for solo public transport operators, be applied to the employees of Horários do Funchal.
The new law, effective from September, creates a supplement of 25% of the monthly base salary, paid 14 times a year, for those acting as solo operators in public or municipal companies. Horários do Funchal, an urban transport company 95% owned by the Regional Government, is the focus of this demand.
Currently, the company's Enterprise Agreement provides a fixed monthly subsidy of 225 euros. Under the new law, the supplement could represent an increase of approximately 57 euros per month, based on a base salary of 1,129.30 euros.
STRAMM believes this is the appropriate time to begin discussions, considering the preparation of the 2027 budget for the Autonomous Region of Madeira and the need to secure the necessary financial conditions for the new system's implementation.
