The Madeira School of Hospitality and Tourism hosts the second edition of the Summer Medical School, an initiative by NOVA Medical School focused on promoting health literacy for youth aged 6 to 14. This year, the program has 42 participants, more than double the previous edition.

The project, which has gathered over 370 participants nationwide, is a partnership between NOVA Medical School, the Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology, the Regional Directorate of Health, and regional professionals. Activities include healthy cooking workshops, mental health sessions, first aid training, and scientific experiments.

The initiative aims to empower young people to take care of their health, with scholarships available for participants facing economic or social vulnerability. The project is supported by entities such as the Municipality of Funchal, Grupo Sousa, Grupo Blandy, and Tecnovia Madeira.
