Gummies resembling popular children's sweets, with familiar colours and scents, pose a serious risk of accidental ingestion by children. Each gummy can contain a high dose of THC, intended for adults, sufficient to cause severe intoxication in minors.
Clinical effects can include severe vomiting, excessive drowsiness, lack of coordination, perceptual changes, tachycardia, respiratory problems, and in extreme cases, coma. Some products also contain THC-P, a cannabinoid with potentially more intense effects.
The PSP has issued public warnings, recommending these products be kept out of children's reach and sight, ideally locked away. It is crucial not to consume products of unknown origin and to always check labels. If ingestion is suspected, call 112 immediately.
