Three employees of the Santa Cruz City Council have been formally charged and banned from working, following an investigation by the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The investigation points to a scheme to manipulate competitive procedures aimed at favoring specific candidates in accessing employment within the municipality.
The defendants, who served on selection panels, are accused of abuse of power, document forgery, and computer fraud, having allegedly benefited two candidates over others. Coercive measures include suspension from duties, prohibition of contact, and restricted access to the Santa Cruz City Hall.
