The Santa Cruz Municipal Council has issued an official statement addressing recent news regarding the suspension of three employees as part of judicial coercive measures.
The council confirmed its cooperation with justice and police forces since March 18th, responding to all requests made during the investigation. The municipality remains convinced that no criminal offense has occurred and will await the judicial process with serenity.
It was emphasized that the employees' status as defendants does not equate to a conviction, and they, like all defendants, benefit from the presumption of innocence. The employees were suspended on allegations of manipulating competitions to favor candidates, particularly in securing employment within the municipality. The three defendants have already undergone judicial interrogation.
