Madeira experienced a tropical night, with the Cancela/SRPC station recording the highest minimum temperature, not falling below 27.4 ºC.
Quinta Grande observed the highest nighttime maximum temperature, reaching 28.3 ºC. Approximately 15 of the 20 IPMA weather stations in the region recorded minimums above 20 ºC.
Only five stations recorded temperatures below 20 ºC, including Pico do Areeiro at 15.7 ºC and São Vicente at 19.1 ºC. Thursday, the first day of autumn, was forecast to be even hotter, with the previous day's extreme maximum temperature in Monte reaching 30.5 ºC.
