The National TVDE Movement Association has strongly condemned the alleged assault of a TVDE driver, which occurred on Friday in Achada do Teixeira, Santana. According to the association, the incident is deeply disturbing and resulted in a dislocated shoulder for the driver, requiring hospitalization.
A criminal complaint has been filed, and the alleged assailants, identified as taxi drivers, have been identified by security forces. The matter is now proceeding through the appropriate legal process.
The association claims this incident reflects an ongoing problem within the sector, citing passenger complaints about taxi drivers in Achada do Teixeira allegedly charging between €25 and €35 per person. They further allege that some of these taxi drivers may not be licensed to operate in Santana, acting outside their authorized geographical area and using intimidation.
