Vaccinations in Madeira Increase by 2.5% in 2025, with Significant Growth in the Regional Plan

Vaccinations administered in Madeira saw a 2.5% increase in 2025, reaching a total of 132,524 administrations, an increase of 3,231 from 2024. These figures were released by the Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM).

Within the scope of the Regional Vaccination Plan (PRV), 69,947 inoculations were administered, representing a 15.9% rise compared to the previous year. The Regional Health Directorate (DRS) adapted the guidelines from the Directorate-General of Health (DGS), updating the MenC and Pn13 vaccines to MenACWY and Pn20, respectively, within the PRV.

Vaccines against Hepatitis A and Rotavirus are now administered to at-risk groups. Outside the PRV, total inoculations decreased by 9.5% to 60,253 doses, with COVID-19 vaccinations showing a 14.4% drop.
