ViaExpresso da Madeira has announced that traffic on Regional Road 2 (VE2), between São Vicente and Seixal, will be subject to restrictions on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Slope cleaning and sanitation work above the road will take place between 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM.
The operations will be carried out by the "rocheiros" (rock climbers) team from the Regional Directorate of Roads (DRE) on the section between kilometers 3.3 and 3.4 of the VE2. During the work, temporary traffic and pedestrian closures may occur between Centro do Ouro (km 0.95) and Seixal (Véu da Noiva, km 5.1).
Traffic stops are expected to last approximately 30 minutes, alternating with periods of reopening. The concessionaire warns of potential delays and urges users to comply with signage and instructions. The aim is to ensure road safety.
