Road traffic will be restricted this Sunday, September 13th, between 5 AM and 5 PM, on several sections between Ribeira Brava and Paul da Serra. The disruption is due to the start of the second phase of transporting wind turbine blades.
According to ENEREEM, part of the Madeira Electricity Group (EEM), the transport will use the VE3 road, passing through Ribeira Brava, Ponta do Sol, Madalena do Mar, Arco da Calheta, Calheta, and Prazeres, before continuing on regional roads 219 and 105 towards Paul da Serra. The blades measure 61.6 meters and the operation requires daylight for critical maneuvers.
The company requests drivers' understanding, warning of potential temporary stops and other traffic limitations. The operation will be escorted by pilot vehicles and coordinated with security forces and relevant authorities.
