ADN denounces "bad faith" by Business Development Institute regarding pandemic aid

The ADN Madeira party has denounced what it considers "bad faith" by the Business Development Institute (IDE, IP-RAM). According to ADN, Madeiran entrepreneurs are being notified to return aid received during the Covid-19 pandemic, with some cases already involving seizures and bank account freezes.

The situation arises because the IDE decided to demand accounting documents after several years, granting a short deadline for their submission. ADN Madeira considers this attitude detrimental to businesses, especially during a complicated historical period that led to the closure of many economic activities.

The party advocates for proper inspection to prevent fraud, but with common sense and extended deadlines for document submission, allowing entrepreneurs to organize their accounting. ADN also warns of potential inspections before the legal deadline for document verification expires, fearing this situation could lead to the closure of SMEs and consequent unemployment.
