ADN Madeira has requested clarification from the Regional Government and IHM (Madeira Housing Institute) regarding the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) Housing Portal. The party seeks to know if the portal is operational, its available functionalities, and the final status of a €1.6 million Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) project, officially due for completion on June 30, 2026.
This inquiry is particularly pertinent as the portal's creation was included in the Regional Budgets for 2024, 2025, and 2026. The legislation outlines features such as real-time tracking of housing applications and quarterly publication of property sale values by area, aiming to enhance transparency and combat real estate speculation.
The party points out that while €795,970 has been paid (49.7% of the approved funding) as of July 16, 2026, the physical execution of the project cannot be solely inferred from the amount paid. ADN Madeira calls for public clarification on five points: the operational start date, access address, available functionalities, final physical and financial execution, and the quarterly publication of housing sale values.
"What we want is to demonstrate what was effectively delivered to the citizen within the foreseen deadline," explained Maíza Fernandes of ADN Madeira. The party argues that in a context of high housing prices, a public tool for greater transparency must have its execution status clearly accessible.
