The ADN Youth has expressed its intention to resort to the courts and launch a public petition to prevent the installation of a casino in Ponta do Pargo.
Tomás Carvalho, the organization's spokesperson, stated that "all available tools" would be used to halt the project, arguing that the investment is not a priority for Madeira and warning of potential social impacts, such as mental health issues and addiction.
Carvalho questioned the Regional Government's priorities, suggesting the executive should focus on more urgent problems, like healthcare. The organization challenges other parties to take a stance against the project and use political and legal means to stop it.
