The Regional Government has increased funding for the APOIAR+ program, which supports individuals with disabilities or temporary incapacity, by 2.3% to 759,000 euros.

APOIAR+ Program Increases Funding to 759,000 Euros in 2026

The Regional Government of Madeira has allocated 759,314.79 euros for the APOIAR+ program in 2026, which finances support products for people with disabilities or temporary incapacity. This amount represents an increase of 16,954.91 euros, or 2.3%, compared to the 742,359.88 euros made available in 2025.

The allocation and its distribution across Health, Education, Social Security, and Employment sectors are detailed in Joint Order No. 85/2026, published in the JORAM. While the decree takes effect the day after publication, its effects are retroactive to January 1, 2026. The overall reinforcement of the program is largely directed towards the Health sector, with an increase of 18,178 euros, bringing funds for products prescribed by SESARAM to 250,000 euros.

Conversely, funding for products prescribed by the Regional Directorate of Education and the Institute for Qualification sees a slight reduction of 1,223.09 euros, down to 59,314.79 euros. Funds for Social Security (400,000 euros) and Employment (50,000 euros) remain unchanged. The APOIAR+ program, established in 2018, aims to facilitate access to means that enhance the autonomy and social participation of individuals with disabilities or temporary incapacity.
