Caminho do Olival Residents Without Drinking Water for Over 24 Hours

Residents on Caminho do Olival in São Roque complain of a lack of drinking water since Thursday morning, with ongoing works exacerbating the situation.

Residents of Caminho do Olival, in Água de Mel, São Roque, report being without a drinking water supply since 11:00 AM on Thursday. The interruption originated from work carried out in the area, which led to the supply being cut off with a promise of restoration for the late afternoon, which did not occur.

A standby team was dispatched to the site after residents' insistence, but according to reports, the workers lacked information about the cause of the problem and had to search for its origin. The situation led to the opening of drains during the night, contributing to the appearance of insects in homes. On Friday, a new team was sent, but residents once again had to explain what had happened, without receiving a concrete forecast for the restoration of the service.

The residents express incomprehension regarding the lack of a forecast for an essential service, highlighting the presence of babies, children, the elderly, and bedridden individuals in the homes. Additionally, the commencement of heavy machinery work on the road pavement raises concerns about access to their homes and potential traffic restrictions, worsening their situation of water deprivation and lack of information.
