CDU/Funchal has expressed concern over the state of basic sanitation in the municipality, citing persistent and severe infrastructure shortcomings.
The coalition accuses the Funchal City Council of failing to address what it considers a priority issue, naming Pico do Cardo, Vasco Gil, Santa Quitéria, and Poço Rodrigo as affected areas.
The party also criticizes open sewage in bathing areas and states that current Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs) lack the capacity for population growth, labeling the situation an "environmental crime."
