JPP Criticizes PSD for Rejecting Regional Higher Education Plan in Madeira

JPP deputies expressed discontent with the PSD's decision to reject the JPP's proposal for a Regional Safeguarding Plan for Higher Education and Students in the Madeira Parliament.

The party argues that this rejection comes at a time when students have shown vulnerability to a lack of response and support from public entities, citing the suspension of ISAL's compulsory closure as an opportunity for students to continue their studies.

The JPP voted against the Final Report of the ISAL Inquiry Committee, believing it failed to center students and clarify all issues. The party maintains that the Regional Government had a political duty to act, and that the region could and should have done more to support Madeira's students.
