CHEGA Member of Parliament Francisco Gomes has severely criticized the Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves, during his visit to Madeira for the Regional PSP Command Day.
Gomes stated that Neves' presence on the island coincides with serious issues in public safety and the treatment of PSP professionals, accusing the minister of inaction on problems like alleged labor abuses, staff shortages, and the neglect of community policing.
The parliamentarian argued that Portugal needs to "get rid of this sinister figure" and that Madeira "deserves better," demanding solutions for personnel shortages and respect for officers' rights.
