The Chega Parliamentary Group has submitted a written request for clarification to the Regional Secretary of Health and Civil Protection regarding the transfer of 30 patients deemed socially discharged to the ground floor of Dr. João de Almada Hospital.
This action follows reports of alleged inadequate conditions in the space, including poor ventilation, high temperatures, and the presence of insects, as well as a request for exemption of responsibility from 13 nurses at the unit.
MP Hugo Nunes criticized the situation, calling it "an absolute disgrace" and contrasting it with statements from the Regional Government President who described the hospital unit as "wonderful." Chega seeks to know who authorized the use of the space and what measures will be taken.
