Francisco Gomes, a CHEGA party Member of Parliament for Madeira, has requested urgent intervention from the National Directorate of the PSP and the Ministry of Internal Administration.
Alleged mismanagement within the Regional Command of the PSP in Madeira is reportedly compromising the labor rights and well-being of officers, according to the MP.
Complaints include demanding work schedules, cancelled days off, difficulties accessing family-related rights, and operational overload causing physical and psychological strain. One specific report details cancelled days off for officers in several municipalities to cover events like the Madeira Rally and local festivals, with some working 12 to 17 consecutive hours.
