A driver in Madeira faced a fast-flowing torrent on an uphill road, possibly while heading home. The situation is considered risky whatever the type of vehicle, and could have had serious consequences had the vehicle's electrical system been affected.
According to the video, the road may be in Santa Quitéria, on the uphill stretch above Madeira Shopping. The driver saw rocks rolling down with the rainwater, which kept falling steadily. Although he passed several exits where he could have taken shelter, he chose to keep driving uphill.
At the end of the footage, a pedestrian can also be seen walking along the street despite the large volume of fast-moving water, another highly risky situation.
