Five people were left homeless after a house in Santo António da Serra, in the municipality of Santa Cruz, was flooded during Storm Bruna. The Municipal Social Division is monitoring the situation together with other municipal services and regional authorities.
The Municipal Civil Protection Service recorded 19 weather-related incidents between 7:00 and 21:00 on Saturday, 7 November. They included six floods or flood risks, five fallen trees or branches, two coastal flooding incidents and three structures at risk from strong winds.
A tree fell onto a vehicle on the Estrada do Garajau in Caniço, with no injuries reported. On the ER202 between Poiso and Santo da Serra, a large fallen tree forced a temporary road closure. The municipality reports no casualties and urges residents to avoid the coastline and take care near trees, walls and poles.
