Edgar Silva and Élvio Passos will launch the book ‘Struggles against the dictatorship from Democratic Portugal – transatlantic connections’ next Friday, September 11, 2026, in Funchal.
The launch event will take place in the assembly hall of the Funchal Municipal Assembly, starting at 5 PM. The book will be presented by Guilherme Silva, a lawyer and former member of the Assembly of the Republic. The Mayor of Funchal, Jorge Carvalho, will give a welcome speech.
The work, published by Página a Página, will be sold at the event for a promotional price of 15 euros, later retailing at 17 euros. It is expected to reach bookstores within a month.
