Councillor Helena Leal announced that the Funchal Municipal Council is holding a recruitment competition for psychologists, emphasizing the importance of these professionals in public policies.
The municipality currently has 11 psychologists, nine on its staff and two at SocioHabitaFunchal. The announcement was made during the forum "Being a Psychologist in Times of Transformation," organized by the Regional Delegation of the Order of Psychologists.
Helena Leal highlighted that the role of psychologists extends beyond interventions for psychological suffering, covering areas such as prevention, well-being promotion, and building resilient communities. Current challenges include social transformations, demographic aging, and the impact of technology.
