PS Accuses Regional Government of Hiring SESARAM Professionals Only in Crisis Situations

The Socialist Party criticizes the Regional Government for only hiring health professionals for SESARAM when problems reach a crisis point, confirming concerns about insufficient resources.

The Socialist Party (PS) accuses the Regional Government (GR) of hiring professionals for the Regional Health Service (SESARAM) only in critical situations, stating that recent resignations by Radiology technicians confirm the party's warnings about insufficient human resources.

The PS met with the National Union of Higher Health Technicians in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Areas (STSS) to analyze the difficulties faced by these professionals. The union deems the urgent hiring of 54 Higher Technicians in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Areas (TSDT) necessary for current needs, with an overall shortage estimated at 130 professionals.

Marta Freitas, a PS deputy, criticized the announced response from the authorities as insufficient and indicative of a lack of planning. The party points to a pattern of late hiring, occurring only after problems become public and professionals reach their limit, advocating for serious and timely human resource planning.
