The Municipality of Funchal has taken a significant step towards preserving the island's cultural identity by proposing the classification of the Madeiran pavement as Intangible Cultural Heritage.
This initiative aims to recognize and protect the unique artisanal technique and the aesthetic and historical value of this distinctive element of the archipelago.
