Funchal recorded the largest year-on-year increase in room rental prices among municipalities analyzed by idealista, with a 14% rise in the second quarter of 2026.
The median price for a room in a shared house in Madeira's capital reached 500 euros per month, making Funchal the second most expensive city in the country, only behind Lisbon. Despite the price increase, demand for rooms grew by only 5%, while supply saw a 65% increase.
