The Regional Director of Health, Bruna Gouveia, has warned about the risk of drug use becoming normalized in Madeira, highlighting the ‘Not So Smart’ operation.
She emphasized that products easily accessible in ordinary commercial establishments can expose the population to highly dangerous substances, with significant impacts on physical and mental health, including psychiatric alterations.
Gouveia expressed concern about the initiation of consumption that can lead to severe dependencies and called for vigilance and awareness to prevent the normalization of trade and access to these products, such as synthetic cannabinoids.
