The municipalities of Porto Santo and Calheta have seen growing community participation in health and wellness programs supported by the Regional Government.

IASAÚDE Reports Positive Impact of Health and Wellness Programs in Porto Santo and Calheta

The municipalities of Porto Santo and Calheta marked their anniversaries with a positive assessment of community engagement in health programs of the Regional Government of Madeira, promoted by IASAÚDE.

Despite differences in size and age, both municipalities have shown an increase in participation from families, children, youth, and seniors.

In Porto Santo, over 370 residents benefited from support, with the "Kit Bebé" program assisting more than 260 families. The "+Visão" and "+Sorriso" programs covered approximately 16% and 5% of beneficiaries, respectively.

In Calheta, over 1,000 residents were reached. The "Kit Bebé" supported over 430 families, "+Visão" benefited more than 160 children and youth, and "+Sorriso" assisted over 110 children and youth aged 10 to 16. More than 300 seniors benefited from "+Visão" for prescription glasses.
