The Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) party has strongly criticized the Madeira Regional Government for a significant reduction in housing construction and continuing care network expansion targets, projects funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
According to JPP, the initial promise of 1,121 new homes has been cut to 805, and places in continuing care services have decreased from 910 to 582. The party also highlighted failures in the renovation of primary healthcare facilities and the creation of home support teams.
JPP deputy Paulo Alves described the situation as a 'failure' and a 'timid confession of the executive's total incompetence,' lamenting the negative impact on the lives of Madeiran families, particularly in areas like housing and health, where the region already faces significant challenges.
